Mustique Blues Festival 2018
To many, the blues is a lone singer, centre stage plucking the strings of a guitar and crooning lyrics about heartbreak, poverty, violence or death. Blues is one of the most popular genres of music and certainly one of the most influential. Genres such as Rhythm & Blues (R&B) and rock find their roots in the blues. A combination of African and Western cultures, the blues which originated in the southern part of America has been made popular far and wide, even reaching our Caribbean shores.
Later this month fans of the genre, or visitors looking for things to do in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are invited to converge on the neighbouring island of Mustique for the annual Mustique Blues Festival. The charity event will be held at the popular Basil’s Bar and will take place 25 January to 7 February 2018.
While each night will offer live music for all to enjoy, fans can look forward to what is sure to be a stellar performance by the show’s headline act, Joe Louis Walker. Other celebrated artistes such as Zac Harmon and Dino Baptisto will also be performing at the music festival.
